Ohlstadt is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district mixing part churches and seat of the central administrative body Ohlstadt with the further member municipalities Eschenlohe, Grossweil and Schwaigen.

Ohlstadt belonged to the monastery Schlehdorf. The place was part of the cure principality Bavaria and formed a closed yard Mark, which was waived 1803 with the monastery.

of the painters Friedrich August von Kaulbach lived from 1850 to 1920 in Ohlstadt. Its mansion is today in museum and beherbegt among other things also the local history museum. Its Gruft is to be visited in the cemetery of the Ohlstädter church.
