Oxalate
as oxalates the salts of oxalic acid are designated. Many of oxalates are heavysoluble in water. In an aqueous solution the concentration of the oxalate ions can by titration with KMnO 4 - solution to be determined. However one must warm up the oxalate solution before to 70°C. Best ammonium oxalate ((NH 4) 2 (COO) 2) and sodium oxalate separate in water. Heavysoluble calcium oxalate is manufactured by precipitation by oxalate ions. This is one of the most usual calcium ion proofs.
