Ozone layer
the ozone layer is a part of the stratosphere in 12 - 50 km height, in which under effect of the ultraviolet radiation high-energy of the sun oxygen (O 2) is converted into ozone (O 3). The comparatively high concentrations ofOzone (to approx. ml/m ³) dangerous UV-RADIATION absorbs 8.
The highest density from ozone is in well 20 km height, the highest percentage by volume in approx. 40 km height. One would extract all ozone, which is in the atmosphere,and on normal print compress, would result in a 3 mm high layer on the earth's surface. To the comparison: The air column with the other gases (above all nitrogen and oxygen) would highly be 8 km.
The ozone layer became 1913 of the French physicists Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson discovers.
If gases, in particular, determined FCKW can by catalytic effects an accelerated dismantling of ozone cause. This leads to the ozone hole.
