of 1985 to Dillingen/Saar. The place is Roman origin. The Vicus Contiomagus was in gallorömischer time a regional center at the crossing of twoimportant freeways from Metz to Mainz and from Trier to Strasbourg. Around 275/276 Contiomagus in the course of the Germanic invasion was destroyed.
Single finds of Roman origin are for a long time well-known, systematic excavations began however only in 20. Century. Archeological finds are in the museum leases to see.
