Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire (walisisch: Sir Penfro) is a county, so-called. Unitary Authority in southwest Wales with approx. 114,000 inhabitants (2001). Administrative seat is Haverfordwest. Pembrokeshire has a total area of 1590 km ². Thus the population density is with almost 72 inhabitants per km ².

Geografie
the county mainly which was because of the sea possesses 273 km a long coastal LINE, which is not only an important breeding place of the sea-birds, but also numerous bays and sandige beaches offers. Nearly the whole coast belongs to the Pembrokeshire Coast national park. The highest point in the Pembrokeshire is the Foel Cwmcerwyn with 537 m. In the north is large part moorland - and heath landscape. In the remaining part of the county much agriculture is operated, since this is relatively flat.
The largest rivers in the Pembrokeshire are the Eastern Cleddau, the Western Cleddau and the Solva.
To the county belong also some islands, which however everything lies in the national park:

history
The today's area became 1138 the Pfalz under the rule of Gilbert de Clare, the first count von Pembroke. Long time was divided the area into the anglikanischen south and the walisischen north.
15. February 1996 gave it a heavy environment disaster by the crude oil tanker to Sea Empress. The tanker collided within the range of the Milford Haven with rock, whereby it lost 74,000 tons oil in the course of the next days. Large parts of the southern Pembrokeshire Coast national park and the coastal regions around Milford Haven were strongly concerned. Thousands of sea-birds ended in the oil and also the tourism leidete under the misfortune.

economics
of one of the most important ports in the county is the deep and natural port of Milford Haven, which can be started also by large oiling anchors. The main branches of trade are the tourism, the agriculture and the refinement of oil.
