Perikope (of griech. κóπτειν, koptein,” cut “) means section and e.g.

• is a term of the Liturgie. in Perikopenbuch, a general name for a book, which contains the texts from the Bible, used in the service. Perikopenbuch is a generic term for Evangeliar, Epistolar, Lektionar.
