Pryluky
Pryluky (Ukrainian Прилуки, Russian Прилуки/Priluki) is a city in the Oblast Tschernihiw of the Ukraine and center of the Rajons of the same name with 54.900 inhabitants (conditions 1. January 2004). The city is because of the bank of the river Oster.
The city Pryluky was mentioned for the first time 1085 as a fortress, which served the protection of the Kiewer Rus against the Nomaden from southern steppes (Petschenegen , Polowzer). 1239 were destroyed the city by Mongols.
1459 were mentioned Pryluky as large city under litauischer sovereignty. 1648 were organized here a kosakisches regiment, what gave an impact for rapid development to the city.
The city is an important industrialist (mechanical engineering, oil production, building industry, Tabakfabrik) and routistic center of the Oblast.
