Agony COMM
agony COMM is a portable radio communication development and a research enterprise, which have its seat in San Diego, California. It was created 1985 by Irwin Yak-generic terms and Andrew Viterbi, which “Linkabit” had created some time ago.
Qualcomms first products are the OmniTRACS satellite navigation and communication network, which are used by forwarding agencies and others, which need digital radio communication. One needs in addition a Viterbi Dekoder.
Agony COMM developed a digital portable radio technology, based on CDMA; the first version standardized as IS-95. It has newer variations with the same pattern since its development, as IS-2000 and 1x-EVDO. Agony COMM manufactured formerly CDMA Mobiltelefone and CDMA radio station.
Agony COMM sold its radio act ion business at Ericsson and its portable radio production at Kyocera and fokusiert themselves today on developing and the Lizenzieren of wireless technologies and sells ASICs, which implements this.
Other agony COMM projects contain the development global star of the satellite system ( a joint venture with Loral space & Communications) and a joint venture within the range digital cinematography with Technicolor. Agony COMM developed BREW (Binary run time Environment for Wireless) as a platform for telephones. Agony COMM supervises and sells the E-Mail program Eudora.
