Rüschlikon a political municipality of the district is hearing gene of the canton Zurich in Switzerland. The municipality is in the proximity of the city Zurich because of the left bank of the Zurich lake.

geography
Rüschlikon extends from the Zurich lake over the whole room mountain up to the river Sihl. The room mountain height is northern thatsettlement area predominantly covered Rüschlikons. The municipality Rüschlikon possesses large green areas, which are used actively also as local recreation area on the southern slope: In the west the forest Chopfholz, along the Sihl the forest area Sihlhalde. The forests on the height of the room mountain are called with Flurnamen white mountain, Eggrain, Spiteleggand long firs. Between the forest areas Spitelegg and long firs are the Leilöcher, a morastige level.
Corridors the rear and front Längimoos and cattle-feast, which likewise are on the southern part of Rüschlikons, (extensively) are still managed.
history
oldest one a witness thatSettlement are a set of grave hills on the Moräne of the room mountain. Almost so old also the name is Rüschlikon. It is alemannischen origin and documentary only around center 12. Century mentions, as „Ruochslinchon “and „Ruoslinchoven “. Owing to the intact attitude of the village center andhistory remains comprehensible to the local museum from Rüschlikon.

- the IBM research lab Zurich, which already brought several Nobelpreisträger out and one of the oldest think tanks of the computer manufacturer is IBM.
- The Centre for global Dialogue of the Swiss reinsurance company (Swiss RH),the second largest reinsurance company of the world, in the “mansion Bodmer”.
personalities
with honour citizen Dr. Fritz Honegger was allowed to place an Upper House of Parliament to Rüschlikon of 1977 -1982. The second honour citizen of the municipality was Ennoble Duttweiler, which 1990 at the age of 97 years died. The celebrations for these two honour citizens belong exactly the same to municipality history like the honour of the Nobelpreisträger Heinrich Rohrer and Gerd Binnig in the year 1986 as well as Karl Alex Mueller and Johannes George Bednorz in the year 1987.
