Revival

Queen Revival volume “The great Pretender”

as Revival designates one the reflashing of a mode wave of the past. The term is in addition, particularly common in the Popmusik and in the jazz, it becomes frequently in the forming art and other sections of the culture, as well as in the mode industry uses.

A Revival is accompanied usually also by a renewal of the aesthetics of the art, mode or music styles, which will again decay. Some Revivals however also of the industry out of artificial caused, here concerns it usually short phenomena, with which only an old style is again warmed up.

Examples of Revivals:

• the 80er-Jahre-Revival in such a way specified end of the 90's, when into the Popmusik styles of the 80's (like new Wave, which new Romantics or also the new German wave) became again current, the phenomenon became visible partly also in the mode. In this case also a renewal of the aesthetics of the 80's took place, particularly in the Elektropop, in which arisen of volume again decorated the old sound with new elements.

• the Science Fiction - Revival in the cinema of the 90's, which renewed the aesthetics of the classical Science Fiction to that extent, when that computer-generated special effects were merged (e.g. in Independence Day or matrix) and thus new expression possibilities were created.
