Rhône

Between the two Mündungsarmenif the Camargue lies, admits by their white horses, black cattle as well as the sump and water birds (above all flamingos, herons and Ibisse).
In the climatically favoured Rhônetal many fruit places are cultivated, so e.g. Peaches, cherries, Apricots and strawberries. The valley of the Rhône is famous also for its vineyards, (e.g. in whale-read, at the slopes of the Geneva lake, south of Lyon and with Châteauneuf you Pape).
Rhônekorrekturen in whale-read
in the years 1863 to 1893 the first Rhônekorrektur were accomplished. The river was put into a Flussbett, so that the level could be managed.
In the years 1930 to 1960 the dams were increased and a double profile with maincoagulate and put on Vorland.
Afterthe inundations of 2000 in the year 2001 with the planning of the third Rhônekorrektur one began. The goal is to be increased security and to be arranged at the same time the river course again more natural.
