Rudolf Slánský
Rudolf Slánský (* 31. July 1901 in Nezvěstice (in close proximity to Kladno); † 3. December 1952 in Prague), was of 1945-1951 Secretary-General of the communist party of Czechoslovakia (KPČ).
Slánský joined the communist party in the year 1921, one year after its Abitur, and was actual starting from this time party official. 1929 it became member of the central committee and as trailer of Klement God forest, which had transferred at this time power in the party, also the Politbüros. From 1935-1938 he was a parliament delegate, 1938 went he to Moscow and became that member of the foreign line of the KPČ, in this function participated he 1944 also in the Slowaki national rebellion .
1945 it returned to Czechoslovakia and became in the same year Secretary-General of the KPČ. In this function it was considerably in the fight of the democratic parties and the seizure of power of the communists in the year 1948 involved and for the pursuit of numerous opponents of the communist party responsible. To 8. September 1951 it became as a Secretary-General to dismiss and kept the posts of a deputy Prime Minister. To 23. November 1951 he was arrested and the high treason accused. The motivation might have on the one hand in it to be seen that God forest wanted to get rid of of a potential rival, on the other hand one played also anti-Semitic motives an important role (Slánský was like the majority of its codefendants of Jewish descent). During a looking process in November 1952 he was condemned as alleged “directors/conductors of an anarchist conspiracy center” to death and at the 3. December 1952 together with ten further codefendants executed. The ash of the executing was added to the Streusplit in winter services and distributed on a road with Prague. 1963 it was legally rehabilitated, 1968 also by the party.
