Runavík [ˈɹuːnavʊik] is a place of the Färöer in the south of the island Eysturoy. After it the municipality of the same name is designated, which forms a regional center of dense development: over 10 kilometers of long residential area on the east bank of the fjord Skálafjørður. The place was created 1916and has an important fishing port.
The municipality Runavík has 2,557 inhabitants (2002) and enclosure apart from the actual administrative seat Saltangará the places Æðuvík, Glyvrar, Lambi, Rituvík, Skipanes, Søldarfjørður and Lambareiði. At the 1. January the following municipalities with that become Runavíkar kommuna together put: Elduvík, Skáli and Oyndarfjørður.
