the Saxonian state State of Dresden became to 22. September 1548 by cure prince Moritz of Saxonia based. An extensive tour activity leads the Saxonian state chapel regularly into the music centers of Europe, North America and the Far East. Thus the orchestra gastiert in the years 2004 and 2005 in different German cities, in Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Great Britain, Spain, in the USA, Greece, Hungary and France as well as with the festivals in Luzern, Edinburgh, London PROM, Salzburg, Prague, Bucharest and on the Kanari islands.

Its last concert as a boss it gave in November 2004 in the framework to a tour in Vienna. In the year 2007 Fabio Luisi, the present boss of the MDR transfers - Sinfonieorchesters, the position of the principal conductor.
