the today's sports club Paderborn 07 resulted 1985 under the name TuS Paderborn new house from a fusion of the TuS lock new house and the fiber plastic Paderborn. Both associations were again products of earlier fusions.

the three Ur-associations, from which the today's sports club 07 developed, were the fiber plastic Prussia Paderborn of 1908, one year the older sports association 07 new house and the TuS Sennelager of 1910.

of the fiber plastics Prussia Paderborn became at the 1. December 1908 based. 1913 split the sports association 1913 Paderborn off the remainder of the fiber plastic Prussia were called of now at VfB Paderborn, starting from 1920 VfJ 08 Paderborn.

The sports association 1913 did not play a considerable role in the post-war period. Only in the season 1955/56 it emerged one year long in the amateur league Westphalia, descended however as the table three tenth immediately. The VfJ 08, which was represented 1948/49 as well as from 1952 to 1956 in this third-highest play class, was only insignificantly more important and 1952 won even the league championship.

1968 united the two associations again to the 1. Fiber plastic Paderborn. This was durably in the amateur league Westphalia represented starting from 1970. The best placement until 1977 was fourth rank, the worst place 13 (of 16). In the last amateur league season 1977/78 the 1 won. Fiber plastic the championship in its relay, failed however both in the final games around the Westphalia championship against the DSC tub Eickel and in the qualification to the ascent round into the 2. Federal league against Holstein Kiel.

In the season 1980/81 the Paderborner first of the 1978 created amateur upper league Westphalia became. Due to the reduction of the 2. Federal league of two relays on one was suspended the ascent in that summer and the championship worthlessly. In the following years the 1 played. the sports association 07 from the Paderborner quarter lock new house was created 1907. 1944/45 it was represented as only predecessor association of the SCP in the gau league, however already after the first play (0: 5 against the Spfr. Red white Paderborn) the play enterprise war conditionally adjusted. Until 1973 the sports association 07 played below the amateur league, into which the 1910 created TuS from before the Sennelager eingemeindeten north of Paderborn and four years lain 1971 had ascended for the first time. 1973 united both associations to the TuS lock new house, which ranked similarly as the TuS Sennelager in the lower table regions, 1976 off and 1977 directly again ascended. After second, fifth and a third place in the 1978 formed amateur upper league the TuS rose 1982 as a Westphalia master into the 2. Federal league up, 1983 as table-last again off. After two fifth places the TuS with that fused 1. Fiber plastic Paderborn to the TuS Paderborn new house.

the pool of the forces starting from 1985 brought only 20 years later (again) the ascent into the 2. Federal league. Before the TuS up to the dissolution of that league played 1994 in the amateur upper league Westphalia, mostly in the upper table half. The championship desired succeeded only 1994, in the ascent round failed the Paderborner. Due to the relay reduction of the 1994 again formed regional league to the season 2000/01 the 1997 to sports club Paderborn 07 renamed association descended even into the upper league, which it left after one year again as a master. 2005 rose the Paderborner finally into the 2. Federal league up.

Briefly before the ascent the Paderborner came into the Hoyzer affair: The DFB Pokalspiel against that Hamburg sports association (4: 2 after extension) by the arbitrator Robert Hoyzer had been manipulated. Since the competition had already too far progressed at the time of the transfer Hoyzers, the result was not cancelled.

the season 2005/06 Jos Luhukay the office for coach of Pavel Dotchev, which trains now the fiber plastic red white Erfurt ( regional league north, took over functionaries). Before Luhukay was a CO coach with the 1.FC Cologne under Huub of Stevens. The separation of Pavel Dotchev as coaches was accompanied of large fan protests, because Dotchev enjoyed large popularity with the fans.

Sporty leader/manager is Günther Rybarczyk, which was active in former times already as players and coaches for the association. Managing director of the association is Martin Hornberger, managing director Michael fount. Current main sponsor is the furniture house Finke, whose owner Wilfried Finke is at the same time a president sports club Paderborn 07.

Since the 1.Mai 2006 are the negotiations of the city Paderborn and the three plaintiffs on the part of the city, due to a council decision - if no agreement is met with the plaintiffs to the 30.April 2006 - broken off. All Zugestädnisse, which was agreed upon since November 2005 and April 2006, between the city and the plaintiffs, does not apply any longer.
