Sefton is a metropolitan Borough (administrative district) in Merseyside, in the region North west England. It is appropriate north of Liverpool and is part metropolitan of the County Merseyside.
The administrative district at the 1 was formed. April 1974 from the former districts Bootle, Southport, Crosby, Formby, Litherland and rural parts of Lancashire. Name giver is the village Sefton.
The area of Bootle is coined/shaped by the port industry at the Mersey. It borders directly on Liverpool. Crosby, Formby and liking cladding are commuter suburbs of the city Liverpool. Southport is well-known as seaside resort.
