Sergej Alexejewitsch Korowin
Sergei Alexejewitsch Korowin (Russian СергейАлексеевичКоровин; * 7. August/ 19. August 1858 in Moscow; † 13. October/ 26. October 1908 ebenda) was a Russian painter and Illustrator. Its brother was a painter Konstantin Korowin.
In the time of 1876 to 1886 it studied at the Muscovites university for painting, sculpture and architecture, and. A. with Wassili Perow, Alexei Sawrassow and Illarion Prjanischnikow. Since 1888 it was as instruction at this university actively. It should exercise this activity until 1907 - with an interruption from 1894 to 1898 -. In this time it became member of the combination of Russian artists.
In its work it followed the tradition and the art understanding of the Peredwischniki. One of its most well-known works - the painting in the world exhibits a graphic composition and is the answer to the event in the farmer environment after that reforms of the yearly 1861. In the second half of the 1890er years pointed themselves in its work a refinement and a turn to the lyric poetry, it turned increasingly to the landscape painting . If its early works exhibited carefully worked out details, then its later works showed the tendency and the expression in the kind of snapshots.
A majority of its works, which are to be assigned mainly to the landscape and category painting, are today in the Muscovite museum of the revolution, the Tretjakow gallery as well as the Russian museum.
