Silvie Ketelaars

Silvie Ketelaars (* 10. October 1985 on Curaçao) is a swimmer of the Netherlands Antilleses. It participated 2004 for their country in the olympic summer games in Athens .

Ketelaars comes from the Hauptinsel Curaçao. There she trains with the Curaçao Sharks Aquatics under the coach Ronald Veenstra originating from the Netherlands.

Ketelaars denied their first larger competition 2002 at the age of 16 years with the XIV. Caribbean swimming championships on their homeland island. There it reached the final run with the juniors in 4 competitions. Their best placement created it over 100 m backs, where them became in the time of 1:11,96 minutes third. Over 200 m back and 200 m butterfly reached it in each case the fourth place, over 100 m butterfly became it sixth.

Two years later with the XV. It began Caribbean swimming championships in Kingston (Jamaica) with the seniors. Here it became over 50 m back in the time of 31.71 seconds third. Besides it created still another fourth place over 200 m butterfly, a sixth over 200 m back and a respected over 50 m freestyle.

For preparation for the olympic matches Ketelaars participated in April in Sydney except competition in the Australian elimination fights for the olympic plays.
