Sense saying
the sense saying and the sense poem belong to a special, very abridged literature kind, particularly in 17. and 18. Century was maintained by German poets.
Master of this category of the so-called. Epigramme were among other things Friedrich Logau, Friedrich Hagedorn, Lessing and Abraham Gotthelf Kästner. They treated most diverse thoughts in completely scarcer, spiritful zugespitzter version.
Lessing defined these shortcompact works as poems, in which “according to kind of the actual label our attention and curiosity are excited on possibly an individual article and more or less delayed, around it with unity to satisfy”. Here the explanation seems to be nearly longer than many of the sense poems.
Sometimes the transition from (usually did not gereimten) the sense saying to the essay is flowing.
Two admitted - certainly somewhat contradicting sense poems are the following:
- Which you do not want that one adds you - füg' also no different one. - the golden rule of the Bible, approximately with Lukas, into verses calm
- constantly enjoys your life - you are longer dead than alive! - Author unknown, but the more frequently quotes
some later poets in more humorous way worked such as z. B. William shrubs or Eugen Roth. Also in abbreviations sense sayings can be hidden - see for example the interpretations of A.E.I.O.U.
