Stanisława Walasiewicz
Stanisława Walasiewicz and/or. Stella Walsh Olson (* 11. April 1911 in Rypin, Poland; † 4. December 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio, the USA) was an Polish-US-American light athlete.
Walasiewicz was born in Poland. Their parents emigrierten into the USA, when Walasiewicz was two years old. She tried repeats the US-American nationality to get. It was however only promised it, when it developed to the Sprinterin of the international top class. Since the acceptance of the US nationality in addition, the task of its amateur status would have meant, Walasiewicz decided to begin with the olympic summer games 1932 in Los Angeles for Poland.
Both in the advance as well as in the semi-final Walasiewicz could stop the world record of 11.9 seconds. The same time reached it also in the final and became with new olympic record Olympiasiegerin before the Kanadierin Hilde Strike and the US American Wilhelmina of Bremen. On the same day Walasiewicz began also in the final of the Diskuswerfens and occupied there the 6. Place.
With the olympic plays 1936 in Berlin Walasiewicz tried to defend their title. There it was subject however to the US American Helen Stephens. With the European championship 1938 it triumphed both over 100 meters as well as over 200 meters and won two silver medals with the 4×100-Meter-Staffel and in the Weitsprung.
1947 married Walasiewicz and received now finally as Stella Walsh Olson the US nationality. 1951 won it at the age of 40 years their last titles with the US athlete IC championships.
To 4. December 1980 was shot Walsh as Passantin with an armed armed robbery in Cleveland. With its autopsy one stated that Walsh was inter+sexual. It had primarily female genital organs, white in addition, testicles up. Later it was stated that their birth certificate on the name Stefan Walasiewicz was issued.
