Steinheuterode is a small municipality inthe center of Germany in the Thuringian district calibration field. Steinheuterode belongs to the central administrative body Uder. Them are approximately 30 km far away from the university town Goettingen. In the closer periphery of the municipality (15-70 km) are also the different “centers of Germany” (depending upon calculation method).

at the foot of the stone mountain, on 316 m height, lies in a valley the place Steinheuterode surrounded by forest. The houses are around the pc. Alban church and around the former manor, now asVillage community center used is arranged.

the coat of arms shows central a goat support, which alludes on the pointed names of the inhabitants Steintreeder Zeggenböcke. (Such pointed names are far common for places in the calibration field.) The golden oak sheet refers left above to the situation of the municipality in Calibration field. The establishment of the village as Rodesiedlung is symbolized by the stump in the foreground. the first documentary mention of the place decreases/goes back to the year 1228,in that the place as “striking worth desert” was mentioned. For the distinction of the calibration field place Wüstheuterode received the place 1619 „stone to the surnames “. The manor was built in the year 1575. 1732 were established on the yard of the manor of the jumping wells „Regine “.
