Sunshine Coast (sunshine coast) is the name of a tourism region in Queensland in (Australia).
The Sunshine Coast extends with a length of approximately 60 km around the 27. southern degree of latitude at the Australian east coast, about 100 km north of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. For Australian conditions the region is densely populated and has more than 300,000 inhabitants. The largest city with approximately 80,000 inhabitants is Caloundra. In Maroochydore there is a University of, the University OF the Sunshine Coast.
The region forms a narrow coastal strip along the southern Korallenmeers, however south the Great Barrier Reef lies. To the country the region is limited by a low mountain course, which is a Ausläufer of the Great Dividing rank. The subtropical climate is generally speaking year warmly, in the winter (June until August) amounts to the average temperatures about 7 °C to 22 °C, in the summer (Decembers until February) 17 °C to 28 °C.
Long sand beaches, several nature parks, pictorial mountains and the favorable situation make the area a center of the tourism. By July 2003 to June 2004 it gave 2.8 million tourists. 92% of the tourists with 84% of the overnight accomodation were allotted thereby to Australians. About each fifth job of the region belongs to the tourism industry.
