system OF A down is 1995 an alternative Metal created in California - volume, which interconnects different of music category.

1993 created Serj Tankian (singing, key board, guitar) and Daron Malakian (guitar, singing) the volume Soil. The Schlagzeuger at that time was Andy Khachaturian, which became in the meantime a singer von The Apex Theory. Shavo Odadjian, which went on the same Armenian Privatschule into California as Serj and Daron, understood itself well with the two and short time was later asked whether he did not want to become the manager that volume.
