Taunus BKK
the Taunus BKK is a staff sickness fund with seat in Aarbergen. A part of the administration sits in Frankfurt. The cash has in January 2005 according to own data approx. 600,000 members as well as approx. 1000 coworkers. The name “Taunus BKK” exists since 2000. The health insurance company was created 1880 as staff sickness fund of the “Michelbacher hut”.

in April 2004 fused the Taunus BKK with the BKK Braunschweig and increased the rate of contribution of 12,8 to 13,8%. The insured one however no special right to give notice was granted. Straight in April taken members were informed also not first about the increase. After some complaints against this behavior the Federal Social Court decided in December 2004 that this behavior was illegal. Many complaining wait however also this very day (June 2005) for payment of damages because of too much paid contributions. Interesting it is also that the Taunus BKK does not refund the too much paid employer portion.
