of the Tessin (Italian Ticino) is a river, which flows from Switzerland to north Italy. It has that Canton Tessin the name given.
The Tessin rises with the Nufenenpass southwest the God hard massif and flows through in sequence the Bedrettotal, the Leventina, the Riviera and the Magadinoebene, before it flows into the Lago Maggiore.
On the ItalianSide leaves it the lake with Sesto Calende and flows by the Poebene, where it flows with Pavia into the Po.
Its length amounts to 248 km. The most important tributaries are Brenno, Moesa, Maggia and Toce.
