Timur Shah Durrani
Timur Shah Durrani (* 1748; † 18. May 1793), second son of the Ahmad Durrani and the second paschtunische king of the dynasty of the Durrani, which governed briefly the second largest Islamic realm of that time. From the realm later the today's Afghanistan followed . The naming Afghanistan with almost the today's borders happened for the first time in the year 1801. The rule of Timur Shah began to 16. October 1772 and lasted up to its death.
Timur came fast to power over the country. He married a daughter of the emperor Alamgir II. (1688-1759), whereby he got Sirhind as dowry and from its father to the regent over Punjab , Kashmir and Sirhind 1757 was made later. Its capital was Lahore. Its Wesir was a general Jahan Khan. These areas governed it one year of May 1757 until April 1758, did not reach it however not to establish right and order.
Adina Beg Khan, regent of the Julundur Doab as well as Raghunath Rao governed the Marathareich and provoked Timur over the Punjab . 1759 succeeded it to Ahmad Shah finally to conquer the Punjab. With an army strength of 60.000 men it defeated the Marathatruppen, which fought only with 45.000 men. In the battle of Panipat to 14. January 1761 decided the fate for the Mughulen.
1772 followed Timur its father after the throne. Widerwillig it was accepted by the Klanführern. Its rule was coined/shaped of civil wars. The capital was shifted from Kandahar to Kabul.
