With Jenssen as route second for the first time a Dutchman stood on the podium. Anquetil rose to the 19. Stage with its last route participation by an illness weakened out. It could contribute however nevertheless to the victory of its crew, since Poulidor was diverted by it, when Anquetils team companion Aimar drove out the crucial minutes on Poulidor.
