University OF Queensland
the University OF Queensland became to 10. December 1909 in Brisbane based, in order to remind of the 50-jährige anniversary of the separation of the Federal State Queensland from new South Wales. Thus the UQ was the first university of the region and the fifth of Australia.
In the year 1911 the university had straight once 83 students, of it 23 female. By the First World War restrained, the need according to higher education in the subsequent years became however the larger, so that the university had to separate from its old Campus the George Street. Now the university is partially in the Victoria park, but mostly in pc. Lucia.
In the year 1990 the UQ with the Queensland Agricultural college fused (today: UQ Gatton), in order to establish a better education standard. In the year 1999 still another third Campus in the nearby city Ipswich was then opened, which was complete one first to Internet attached universities of Australia.
