The County borders in the clockwise direction on the Counties: Avoiding country County, Reagan County, Crockett County and Crane County.
history
Upton County was formed for 1887 from parts of the Tom Green County. It was designated after John Cunningham Upton and its brother William Felton Upton, two officers of the Konföderierten army.
