People designation

under Demonym or people designation one understands the name (- nym) of a municipality (therefore a people) (demo). The two kinds of it are

• Exonyme (exo: outside), thus about outside or foreign designation
• Endonyme (endo: inside) and self or self-designation.

A nearly synonymischer and far common term is Ethnonym (ethno: people).

In the Roman languages the designation often becomes with one from lat. gene coming ending + IL + 'IC (as many as „völkisch “) in an educated manner, up to in the Italian, with which it is called simple „name of the inhabitants “.

In German the adjektivische form of the word, becomes the affiliation adjective, often through - isch , and the noun , if it is not already the trunk , provides through - it, - more ier, or - more iener. See z. B. the Etymologie of the term „German “.
