the hare heath is approx. 50 hectares large park in Berlin Neukölln at the border to cross mountain. The name of the Parkes decreases/goes back to the use of the area as hare enclosure, for which it was used starting from 1678. The large cure prince went here to the hunt. 1811 created Friedrich Ludwig Jahn here the first turn place of Germany. This very day a monument reminds at the northern entrance of the park of the so-called „turn father “and of it that the German turn movement took its beginning here.

The highest collection is consisting 69 m a high rubble mountain named Rixdorfer height, of approximately 700,000 m ³ rubble debris of the Second World War. In the park a monument is named rubble woman, which was established to 1955 by Katharina Singer.

In the park are a free air cinema, an animal enclosure, a Minigolfanlage, a rose garden, a playground and a dog meadow. Numerous groups of footballs were already established.

The hare heath is, as well as the neighbouring Hermannplatz, for many years an emphasis of the citizens of Berlin drug scene. Here it came repeated also to violent crime: Rapes, murders among other things In March 2006 a policeman was killed last with a shooting.
