Wiesenfelden lies in the region Danube forest and covers 85 localities and Weiler.

history
the place name is derived from the brook Wiesent and the place of the same name at the delta of the brook into the Danube . The first documentary mention of Wiesenfelden comes from 1105. The place was seat of several aristocracy sexes, last the counts von Otting and Fünfstätten and the barons von Mägerl. The place was part of the cure principality Bavaria and formed a closed yard Mark, whose seat was Wiesenfelden. The today's municipality developed 1818. 1978 took place the pool of the earlier municipalities Saulburg, Zinzenzell, Heilbrunn and elevator mountain with Wiesenfelden.
