the Writers Guild OF America (WGA) is the common trade union of the authors in the film and television industry of the USA.
It divides into a western and eastern range. Starting from 2003 it counted country-wide over 11.000 members. The trade union provides also for the health and pension achievements of the members. Likewise it controls the adherence to copyright.
