geographical situation

of Zaberfeld is in the Zabergäu in the southwest district Heilbronn because of the river Zaber, which rises north the local part Zaberfeld at the Heuchelberg. South of Zaberfeld the current mountain lies.

neighbour of cities and - municipalities Zaberfelds are (in the clockwise direction, beginning in the north): Eppingen, Pfaff yards (both district Heilbronn), Saxonia home (district Ludwigsburg), star rock (Enzkreis), cure brook and Sulzfeld (both district Karlsruhe). Together with Güglingen and Pfaff yards Zaberfeld the local administration federation forms „upper Zabergäu “with seat in Güglingen.

Zaberfeld consists of the local parts Zaberfeld, Leonbronn, Michelbach and ox castle.

history

Zaberfeld was probably created around the year 1000. 1321 came the place of the Mr. von Magenheim at bathing. 1355 came Zaberfeld under württembergische sovereignty and became 1749 finally württembergisch. the Mr. von Sternenfels the place held 1390 to 1749 as württembergisches Lehen . From 1807 to 1810 it belonged to the upper office Güglingen, starting from 1810 to 1938 to the upper office Brackenheim, then after its dissolution to the district Heilbronn.

Michelbach was mentioned for the first time 1276 in a document. 1356 came it under württembergische sovereignty and became 1749 finally württembergisch. 1970 became Michelbach after Zaberfeld in in common December.

Ox castle, 1231 for the first time in a document mentioned, developed as settlement to a medieval castle and had to 1807 municipal rights. After abort of the castle at the beginning 19. Century the place name was changed briefly in ox mountain. The name change was cancelled again to the municipality however when desired.

Leonbronn is mentioned for the first time as link well 1289. 1971 formed it together with ox castle the new municipality Burgbronn, which however already came up 1975 in Zaberfeld.

are religions in each of the four partial places its own Evangelist church municipality. For the catholic Christians the catholic church municipality is Hl. Dreifaltigkeit Güglingen responsibly.

the local council Zaberfelds have after the local election of 13. June of 2004 14 seats. Further member of the local council and its chairmen is a mayor.

Blasonierung: In red on a three speed wall-like golden rock a siebenstrahliger golden star.

The flag of the municipality is yellow-red.

The coat of arms is the talking coat of arms of the family of star rock, which possessed the place until 1749 as württembergisches Lehen. The colors deviate from the purpose of the distinction from the family coat of arms and decrease/go back like the today's form to a suggestion of the württembergischen archives management of 1938. Coats of arms and flag became the municipality to 22. February 1963 of the ministry of the Interior of Baden-Wuerttemberg lent.

the entire municipality lie in the nature park Stromberg Heuchelberg. A popular trip goal is for the purpose of the flood protection builds, 1969 finished and 2000/2001 extended Zaber artificial lake Ehmetsklinge, which serves in the summer as bath lake. A further bath lake is the cat brook lake.
