goat back is a town in the Saale Orla circle in Thuringia.

geography

goat back is in the Thüringer slate mountains because of the eastern Ausläufer of the high waiting dam.

Adjacent municipalities are Essbach, Keila, Moxa, Paska, rem PSE village and beautiful village.

history

about 1000 goat back one based. The first settlement is to have been mostly above the old Schäferei and have been destroyed by an inundation. The place name goat back is to be due to the sorbische designation “Czegenruck”, it meant as many as “river elbow” or“River loop”. From the year 1258 the first documentary mention of the place originates. Since 1328 the place possesses the municipal law.

Goat back Saxonia belonged and became then a district town in the governmental district Erfurt of the Prussian province Saxonia up to the year 1815 to the kingdom (district goat back). 1894reached the upper land course from Triptis goat back, one year later followed the continuation after praising stone.
