the region Zlín (Czech: Zlínský kraj - German with be correctful s at the word beginning) Tschechiens is and borders east on the Slowakei, domestically at Südmähri circle, and the circles Olmütz and Mährisch Schlesien in the east. On the surface of 3.964 km ² approximately 590.000 livesInhabitant (149 Einwohner/km ²). In the circle 304 municipalities lie, of it 30 cities.

landscape
the area are predominantly gebirgig, up to the level, along the river Morava pull themselves and in the region Slovácko in the area of Uherské Hradišťe. In the north are those Moravskoslezké Beskydy (Mährisch Schlesi Beskiden), in the east the mountains Javorníky with the highest mountain Velký Javorník (1,071 M.ü.M.) and to the south Bílé Karpaty (white Karpaten), which forms the natural border at the same time to the Slowakei. To the south Vsetínská follow hornatina (mountainsof Vsetín) and Vizovická vrchovina (mountains of Vizovic), in the southwest Chřiby. The soil is poor in minerals and humus. Only in the valleys of the rivers one finds terrible soil. 49% of the soil are agriculturally used. In the circle are some large landscape protection areas, above all Beskydy and Bílé Karpaty, which are protected also by the UNESCO . The euro region Bílé - Biele Karpaty is to favour a general co-operation in the protected area.

the circle belonged to the regions with an outdated structure, causes particularly by the liquidation of large-scale enterprises and a bad traffic route thatstrong raw material and semi-finished material-processing industry, which constitute a portion of 18% of the enterprises in the processing trade. It concerns particularly companies in the processing of rubber and plastic (2%), metalworking (27%), electro-technology (14%),Mechanical engineering (3%) and foodstuffs industry (5%). Affects itself negatively also the low modernization degree machinery. The gross domestic product amounts to 175,614 crowns for each inhabitants. This is gained by 122.912 enterprises, from which 14,714 enterprises employ coworkers. In enterprises with moreas 25 coworkers more than half of all persons employed is in wages.
job market
the rate of utilisation grew opposite 2001 by 1,5%. Is paid off an average wage of 13.843 crowns, which is approximately around 2000 crowns under the state average.Unemployment is with 10,2%.
social mechanisms
in 339 kindergartens, 237 primary schools, 14 High Schools, 51 middle technical schools and 35 vocational schools are prepared children for the working life. In addition 11 professional schools as well as a university with three faculties comein Zlín. On a physician 312 inhabitants come in the circle. For the care of patients further 11 hospitals with 3.375 beds provide.
