Graz University of Technology
Graz University of Technology is (after Karl-Franzens-University) the second largest university in Styria, Austria. It is located in Styria's capital, Graz and was founded in 1811 by Archduke Johann. TUG, as the university is called by its students, is a public university which is the norm in Austria.
During the summer term of 2005 around 8200 people studied at TUG, of which 16% were from abroad and 19% female.

Organization
The University consists of seven faculties:
- Faculty of architecture
- Faculty of civil engineering
- Faculty of mechanical engineering and economics
- Faculty of electrical engineering and information technology
- Faculty of mathematics and physics
- Faculty of chemical engineering, and biotechnology
- Faculty of computer science, informatics
Each faculty consists of several departments (total: 104).
As of 31.12.2004 1648 people worked at Graz University of Technology. Of which 943 were members of the scientific staff (101 professors).
