MIT is a three-letter acronym that usually refers to Massachusetts Institute of Technology but can also mean:

• Madras Institute of Technology Chromepet, a college in Tamil Nadu, India
• Maharashtra Institute of Technology, a college in India
• Manipal Institute of Technology, an engineering college in Manipal, Karnataka, India
• Manukau Institute of Technology, a polytechnic in Manukau City (South Auckland), New Zealand
• Mapua Institute of Technology, a tertiary institute in Manila

• Methylisothiazolinone, a preservative
• Millî İstihbarat Teşkilâtı, National Intelligence Organization of Republic of Turkey
• MIT License, a license for the use of certain types of computer software
