- Estados Unidos: el ministro de defensa español, José Bono, inicia su visita a EE.UU. con una ofrenda floral al "soldado desconocido" en Arlington y con una conferencia sobre "Terrorismo Internacional y Defensa" en el Woodrow Wilson Center de Washington. El ministro español afirma que EE.UU. no acabará sólo con el terrorismo y que en España tiene a un "amigo y aliado".
- Egipto: arqueólogos egipcios anuncian que se ha encontrado al suroeste de El Cairo a la que ya es considerada como la momia más hermosa jamás encontrada con anterioridad. La momia, que se encuentra en óptimas condiciones de conservación, data de unos 2.200 años de antigüedad y pertenece a la Dinastía XXX.
