Policy

Belize is a parliamentary democracy and member of the Commonwealth. The Head of State is currently the Queen Elizabeth II, represented in the country by a governor-General, who must have the nationnality of the country. The primary education executive body of the government is the Council of Ministers, carried out by the Prime Minister who is a chief of the government. The Ministers for the council are members of the majority political part at the Parliament and usually hold of the seats of elected officials at the same time as their positions of the Council of Ministers. The bicameral Parliament of Belizean is the French National Assembly, which is composed of a room of the representatives and a senate. The 29 members of the Room are usually elected for five years maximum. The members of the senate are eight, five are chosen by the Prime Minister, two by the chief of the opposition, and one by the General of governor in accordance with the opinion of the Consultative Committee of Belize. The senate is directed by a president, who is an abstentionnist member designated by the governing part. Belize is an active member of the Community of the Caribbean (CARICOM).
