Euregio The Meuse-Rhine

Created in 1976, itEuregio The Meuse-Rhine is one of the oldest transborder co-operations to the c?ur of . Its objective aims at emphasizing in obviousness and the community of interest which exists between the areas which composes it and to make the inhabitants more conscious of the need for a co-operation in the field of the administration, the economy, the culture, teaching and the infrastructure.

Euregio is composed of the following areas:

• in , including ;
• in ;
• The southernmost part of the province of Limbourg with ;
• The Area of in the district of in , formed of the districts of, , Euskirchen and Heinsberg.

Euregio gathers a population of more than 3,7 million people having a real cultural diversity with three languages (, , ). Five large cities form part of Euregio: , , , Heerlen and .
