Fuse
fuse has as a role to cut one electric circuit in which it is inserted in the event of on consumption or of short-circuit. Its name comes owing to the fact that it functions by fusion of a filament as soon as itintensity exceed a certain threshold during a certain time. The goal is to protect the electric circuits downstream.
Operation

When the sperm which crosses the fuse exceeds a value specified during a given time (gauge), the conducting part of the fuse melts and opens the circuit. Some are provided with a mechanical indicator indicating the operation of the fuse.
The opening stops the current protecting the circuit against the harmful consequences from the overcurrent (heating which can go until the ignition, etc.)
