History

Viêt Nam was born from an old émancipée Chinese military commandery with the end from IIE century. The area is then shared between Chinese influences in North (Nam Viêt) and the Indian world in the South (Champâ). Thereafter, the area is marked by an alternation of Chinese invasions and independence movements on the one hand, and by the alternation of the periods of unification and division.
With XIXE century, the country passes under French domination: it is occupied in and becomes a French colony withinFrench Indo-China until in . At the end of , it Viêt-minh proclaim independence. It is then war of Indo-China against the French, which is completed by a victory of the freedom fighters and the partition of the country along the 17E parallel, between Communists and not-Communists. The fight enters the two States led to war of Viêtnam, which sees a victory of the Communists and the creation of the socialist Republic of Viêt Nam.

Viêt Nam is one republic Socialist. The voting rights are granted to all the citizens of more than 18 years. chair is the Head of the State, while the Prime Minister is the chief of the government. The legislative power is exerted by only one room made up of 450 renewed seats every 5 years.

The official language, it Vietnamese, is written by means of Latin characters. This romanisation names itself qu?c ng? ; it rises from the work started since XVIE century by the missionaires to transcribe the indigenous language. Jesuit Alexandre of Rhodos the first Dictionary of annamite established, by transcribing the language on the basis of Portuguese.
Vietnamese is one of the rare languages ofThe Far East with to have passed from a system close to sinogrammes withLatin alphabet. Viêt Nam is one of of South-east. It is surrounded by gulf of Thailand, it gulf of Tonkin, China Sea, , it and it . It occupies a surface of 329 560 km² including 4 200 territorial water km².
In the south, the climate is tropical while in north a climate of monsoon reigns; the rain season there begins in mid-May and finishes in mid-September.
Phan Xi P?ng, high 3 143 m, is the climax of the country.
