Sir

Sir is erepredikaat that led men become who have received a ridderschap or (hereditary) the title have. The knight title is not hereditary, but is granted for living.

Both knights and baronetten have the right themselves call "Sir". Female baronetten do not prevention nearly because of the commonly applying Salische law of inheritance. The female equivalent for ' Sir ' is ' lady '.

The form of address Sir is followed by the complete name, or only the first name. For example: Sir or Sir Winston (but not Sir Churchill).
