Standard
standard is distinguishing flag, that on sea it is generally hoisted on poop of a ship or boat to indicate vessel the nationality of he. Standards can be hoisted also vertically on the ranok (the vertical mast arm), when the ship on sea speed.
In some countries (for example United States and France), the national standard right to the national flag is. In other countries, like for example it United Kingdom, to be special standards use on sea.
At country a standard is the herkenningsvlag of a military entity. Nowadays the standard has only still a ceremonial meaning. At the bereden weapons (the entities which operated for 1940 at horse: cavalry, artillery and military police) a standard is called "standard". Standards are nowadays conducted regiments or larger links, like for example it Korps mariniers, squadron, Royal air power and Royal military police.
