MediaWiki

MediaWiki it is a software written in using systems of management of database MySQL, and permitted under license GPL. Projecto is developed through CVS of SourceForge. This technology is used mainly in the projectos of Wikimedia.

History

The MediaWiki originally was written for for the student and German programmer Magnus Manske. The website was previous used UseModWiki (known for "Phase I"), in which it used , and after that was modified stops with a new version ("Phase II") 25 of January, . The day is known between the Wikipedista community as Day Magnus.

The half one of 2002 software was rewritten and improved ("Phase III"), and since base was developed there from the code.

From 2003, the previous program, without name, adoptou the name "MediaWiki" and new public versions had started to be created having in mind external use, beyond the projectos of the Wikimedia.
